Reproduce the same sharpness of BMC Tagane while maintaining the raw materials and manufacturing methods!
◎ Exquisite craftsmanship accumulated through experience
This technology is the result of the processing and sharpening of tungsten carbide that has been passed down for three generations. Being able to manipulate this material, which is second only to diamond, is the result of years of dedication and training. This process allows us to achieve the same sharpness as the BMC Tagane, cutting plastic as easily as planing wood - soft, smooth and sharp.
◎ Final finishing – Four-sided mirror polishing
A carefully sharpened blade is already very sharp, but we go a step further by polishing all four sides to a mirror finish for professional precision. The edge this creates is flawless. The fine surface reduces friction for smooth, sharp cutting performance. By polishing every surface to a mirror finish, we prevent microscopic chipping caused by minor scratches. This seemingly excessive finishing process achieves unparalleled sharpness and durability, balancing two opposing properties.
◎ Materials supported by advanced technology
We use high-purity tungsten carbide and process it in Japan with cobalt as a binder. By strictly following Japan's quality standards*, we ensure cutting performance and durability that will not disappoint model enthusiasts.
*Some tungsten carbide produced overseas is often mixed with other metals or recycled tungsten to reduce costs. Although it is easier to process due to the reduction in hardness, this will result in a significant decrease in hardness and wear resistance. BMC Tagane does not use any such materials.
◎ Simple handle design
The lightweight, simple handle is designed to reduce fatigue during use while stimulating the user's senses. It provides superior control, allowing you to feel the blade's carving depth. This sense of unity between the tool and the user's fingers makes high-precision carving possible.
◎ Compatible with BMC Tagane sharpening stand (sold separately).
By sharpening the blade with a diamond sharpening plate (sold separately), you can maintain the sharpness of a brand new tool.
Comes with protective cover.
■ Precautions for use
- Do not use this tool for purposes other than modeling.
- Apply light pressure and make multiple gentle passes.
- The blade is extremely sharp, so handle with care.
- The blade lacks flexibility and may break if twisted or subjected to bending forces.
- Excessive force may cause fragments to fly and cause injury.
- Always wear protective equipment such as safety glasses, hats, masks and gloves when using the tool.
- Keep the tool out of the reach of children to prevent accidental swallowing or injury.
- Please inspect the product upon receipt. If the product has been used, it is no longer eligible for replacement.
