Operation demonstration
Reproduce the same sharpness of the BMC Tagane while maintaining the original materials and manufacturing methods!
◎ Experience-based craftsmanship
This technology is the result of three generations of machining and sharpening tungsten carbide. Being able to manipulate this material, which is second only to diamond, is the result of many years of dedication and training. This process allows us to replicate the sharpness of the BMC Tagane, achieving a soft, smooth, yet sharp cutting edge that can cut plastic as easily as planing wood.
◎ Final finishing – polishing on three sides
A carefully sharpened blade is already very sharp without further processing. However, all three sides are expertly polished to a mirror finish, creating a finely honed, ultimate cutting edge. This fine surface reduces friction for smooth, sharp cutting performance. The mirror finish also prevents microscopic chipping caused by minor scratches. This seemingly excessive finishing process achieves unparalleled sharpness and durability, balancing two seemingly opposing qualities.
◎ Materials Backed by Advanced Technology
We use high-purity tungsten carbide and process it in Japan with cobalt as a binder. By strictly following Japan's quality standards*, we ensure cutting performance and durability that will not disappoint model enthusiasts.
*Some tungsten carbide produced overseas is often mixed with other metals or recycled tungsten to reduce costs. Although easier to process due to the reduced hardness, this results in a significant reduction in hardness and wear resistance. BMC scrapers do not use any of this material.
Ideal for working parting lines using a planing action.
Ideal for leveling narrow, hard-to-reach areas.
Great for roughing in seams.
Also very useful for repairing sink marks in tight places.
■ Usage Precautions
- Do not use this tool for purposes other than modeling.
- Apply light pressure and make multiple gentle passes when using.
- The blade is extremely sharp, so handle with care.
- The blade lacks flexibility and may break if twisted or subjected to bending forces.
- Excessive force may cause fragments to fly out and cause injury.
- Always wear protective gear such as safety glasses, a hat, a mask and gloves when using the tool.
- Keep tools out of the reach of children to prevent accidental swallowing or injury.
- Please inspect the product upon receipt. If the product has been used, it is no longer eligible for replacement.
